Effects of geometric parameters on fluid-flow and heat transfer in micro-channel heat sink with trapezoidal grooves in sidewalls

Trapezoidal grooves were arranged in channel sidewalls of the proposed micro-channel heat sinks to enhance transfer for cooling microelectronic systems. The 3-D numerical simulations carried out investigate characteristics fluid-flow and micro-channels. Field structures thermal fluid-flow, Nusselt number, friction factor, f, employed study effects relative groove depth, ?, spacing length, trapezoidal on hydraulic performance results showed that presented better flow than smooth straight one Re <597.74 with f/f0 < 1 >149.44 Nu/Nu0 > 1, respectively. enhancement was achieved up 1.197 ? = 0.4 714.18. Furthermore, depth had much more significant influence overall length.
